Legaliam – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Legaliam (“Legaliam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Legaliam mobile application, website, artificial intelligence features, document drafting tools, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using Legaliam, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.

1. About Legaliam

Legaliam is an AI-powered platform that provides general legal information, educational explanations, AI-assisted document drafting, and document summaries to help users better understand legal topics.

Legaliam is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice or legal representation, and does not act as your attorney.

The Services are intended solely for educational and informational purposes.

2. No Legal Advice; No Attorney–Client Relationship

The information, responses, explanations, document drafts, summaries, templates, and other materials generated through Legaliam are provided solely for general informational purposes.

Nothing provided through Legaliam constitutes:

  • legal advice;
  • legal representation;
  • legal opinions;
  • legal services; or
  • a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

Your use of Legaliam does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Legaliam or any person associated with Legaliam.

If you require legal advice regarding your particular circumstances, you should consult a licensed attorney.

3. AI-Generated Content

Legaliam uses artificial intelligence to generate, among other things:

  • general legal information;
  • educational explanations;
  • AI-generated document drafts;
  • document summaries;
  • document analysis; and
  • suggested revisions.

AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for your individual circumstances.

By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content should not be relied upon as legal advice;
  • laws vary by jurisdiction and change over time;
  • AI may produce inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • you are solely responsible for reviewing and evaluating all AI-generated content before relying on it; and
  • Legaliam is not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

4. External Attorney Directories

Legaliam may provide links to external third-party attorney directories or other publicly available legal resources for users who wish to independently locate a licensed attorney.

Legaliam:

  • does not operate those directories;
  • does not recommend, endorse, rank, or assign attorneys;
  • does not verify attorney credentials;
  • does not participate in any attorney-client relationship;
  • does not provide legal representation through those directories.

Any decision to contact or retain an attorney is solely between you and the attorney you independently choose.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Legaliam responsibly and only for lawful purposes.

You agree not to:

  • misuse the app Services;
  • upload unlawful, offensive, or malicious content;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the platform;
  • attempt to reverse engineer the Services;
  • represent AI-generated information as legal advice from a licensed attorney.

You are solely responsible for the information you submit and the decisions you make using the Services.

6. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use the app Services.

7. Account Registration

Authentication may be provided through services such as Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In.

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your account;
  • protecting your login credentials;
  • all activities occurring under your account.

Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

8. Subscription Plans & Payments

Certain features may require a paid subscription.

By subscribing, you acknowledge that:

  • subscription fees are disclosed before purchase;
  • subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled through the applicable app marketplace;
  • pricing and available features may change from time to time;
  • refunds are subject to the policies of the applicable app marketplace and applicable law.

9. Document Drafting & Document Uploads

Legaliam allows users to generate AI-created document drafts and upload documents for AI-generated summaries or explanations.

You acknowledge that:

  • document drafts are informational starting points only;
  • Legaliam does not guarantee legal validity, enforceability, or suitability of any document;
  • you are responsible for reviewing all generated documents before using them;
  • you should not upload confidential information that you expect to be protected by attorney-client privilege.

10. Intellectual Property

Legaliam and its content, software, designs, trademarks, logos, graphics, and proprietary technology are owned by Legaliam or its licensors.

Subject to these Terms, Legaliam grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • violate any law while using the app Services;
  • attempt unauthorized access to Legaliam systems;
  • upload malware or malicious code;
  • misuse AI-generated content;
  • use the app Services in a manner that harms Legaliam or other users.

Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of your account.

12. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legaliam disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of:

  • accuracy;
  • completeness;
  • reliability;
  • availability;
  • merchantability;
  • fitness for a particular purpose; and
  • non-infringement.

Legaliam does not guarantee that AI-generated content reflects the most current laws applicable to your jurisdiction.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legaliam shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the Services.

Legaliam’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of:

  • the amount you paid to Legaliam during the preceding twelve (12) months; or
  • Fifty U.S. Dollars (US $50).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Legaliam, its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising out of:

  • your use of the Services;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your misuse of AI-generated content; or
  • your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

15. Suspension and Termination

Legaliam may suspend or terminate access to the Services if these Terms are violated or if misuse of the platform is detected.

You may stop using the Services at any time.

16. Changes to These Terms

Legaliam may update these Terms periodically.

Updated versions become effective upon publication.

Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
